പാലക്കാട് : കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണുള്ള മരണങ്ങൾ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ 'ഓട്ടോ രക്ഷ' പദ്ധതിയുമായി പാലക്കാട് എംഎൽഎ രമേഷ് പിഷാരടി.
ആളുകൾ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീഴുകയും മരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്റെ പ്രധാന കാരണം ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള സമയം വൈകലാണ്. അതിലും ഏറെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ് താത്കാലികമായി നിലച്ച ഹൃദയത്തെ പ്രഥമ ശുശ്രൂഷ നൽകി ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചെത്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയും എന്ന അറിവില്ലായ്മ. പ്രഥമ ശുശ്രൂഷ നൽകാൻ അറിവില്ലാത്തതും പ്രശ്നമാണ്. ആളുകൾ കുഴഞ്ഞു വീഴുമ്പോൾ സിപിആർ (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation ) നൽകാൻ അറിയുന്നവർ അടുത്തുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വലിയ ശതമാനം മരണങ്ങളും ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ കഴിയും. കുഴഞ്ഞു വീഴുന്നവരെ നാട്ടുകാർ സാധാരണ ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷ തുടങ്ങിയ വാഹനങ്ങളിലാണ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിക്കുക. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ മുഴുവൻ ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവർമാർക്കും സിപിആർ പരിശീലനം നൽകുന്ന പദ്ധതിയുമായി എംഎൽഎ എത്തുന്നത്. എല്ലാ വിഭാഗം ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും എപ്പോഴും എത്തുന്ന ആൾ എന്ന നിലയിലാണ് ഓട്ടോ തൊഴിലാളികളെ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമാക്കുന്നത്. അവർക്ക് പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അത് ഒരുപാട് പേർക്ക് ഗുണമാവും. ഒരുപാട് പേരുടെ ജീവിതം തിരിച്ചു നൽകുന്ന ഇടപെടലായി ഇത് മാറും. നഗരത്തിലെ ഒരു സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയുമായി ചേർന്ന് അവിടെയുള്ള ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ സേവനം പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ മുഴുവൻ ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവർമാർക്കും കക്ഷി രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഭേദമന്യേ പരിശീലനം നൽകാനാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. പരിശീലനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഡോക്ടർമാർ നൽകുന്ന സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റും നൽകും.
ഒരു പൊതു വിഷയമായതുകൊണ്ട് മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ മുഴുവൻ ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവർമാരും ഇതിനോട് സഹകരിക്കണം. അവർ സഹകരിക്കുമെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷ എന്ന് എംഎൽഎ പറഞ്ഞു.
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു നിയോജകമണ്ഡലത്തെ മുഴുവൻ ഓട്ടോ തൊഴിലാളികളെയും സിപിആർ പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ചവരാക്കി മാറ്റുക എന്നതും ലക്ഷ്യമാണ്.
പദ്ധതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു ജീവനെങ്കിലും രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അത് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പുണ്യമാണ്. എംഎൽഎ പറഞ്ഞു.
ലോക ഹൃദയാരോഗ്യ ദിനമായ സെപ്റ്റംബർ 29ന് പദ്ധതിക്ക് തുടക്കമാവും. ഓട്ടോ രക്ഷ എന്നാണ് പദ്ധതിയുടെ പേര്. നടൻ കുഞ്ചാക്കോ ബോബനാണ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സെപ്റ്റംബർ 29ന് ശേഷം പാലക്കാട് നഗരത്തിലെ ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷകൾ വെറും റിക്ഷകൾ മാത്രമാവില്ല രക്ഷകനും കൂടിയാവും എന്നാണ് ഓട്ടോ രക്ഷയുടെ സങ്കല്പം
Palakkad: Against the backdrop of reported deaths following sudden collapses, Palakkad MLA Ramesh Pisharody has launched the ‘Auto Raksha’ initiative.
One of the major reasons people who collapse suddenly lose their lives is the delay in getting them to a hospital. Equally important is the lack of awareness that a temporarily stopped heart can sometimes be revived by providing immediate first aid. Lack of knowledge about administering first aid is also a major concern.
If someone trained to provide CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is nearby when a person collapses, a significant number of deaths could potentially be prevented.
People who collapse are often taken to hospitals in autorickshaws or other locally available vehicles. It is in this context that the MLA has come up with a project to provide CPR training to all autorickshaw drivers in the constituency.
Autorickshaw drivers are being included because they regularly come into contact with people from all sections of society and are often among the first available persons to respond in an emergency. If they are trained, the initiative could benefit many people and potentially help save lives.
The MLA plans to provide training to all autorickshaw drivers in the constituency, irrespective of political affiliation, with the support of a private hospital in the city and the services of its doctors. Those who complete the training will also receive certificates from the doctors.
Since this is a public-interest initiative, the MLA appealed to all autorickshaw drivers in the constituency to cooperate with the programme. He expressed confidence that they would extend their support.
Another objective of the initiative is to make all autorickshaw workers in an entire constituency CPR-trained, reportedly making it the first such initiative in India.
“If this initiative helps save even one life, that itself will be the greatest blessing,” the MLA said.
The project will be launched on September 29, World Heart Day. The initiative has been named ‘Auto Raksha’, and actor Kunchacko Boban will inaugurate the programme.
The concept behind ‘Auto Raksha’ is that, from September 29 onwards, autorickshaws in Palakkad city will not be merely means of transportation—they will also become lifesavers.
