ഹരിദാസിന്റെ വീടിന് സമീപം വനംവകുപ്പ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച കൂട്ടിലാണ് ഞായറാഴ്ച രാത്രി പത്ത് മണിയോടെ രണ്ടുവയസ്സുള്ള ആൺപുലി കുടുങ്ങിയത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങളായി പ്രദേശത്ത് പുലിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം ശ്രദ്ധയിൽപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടർന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് നിരീക്ഷണം ശക്തമാക്കിയിരുന്നു.
ഇതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സ്ഥാപിച്ച കൂട്ടിലാണ് പുലി കുടുങ്ങിയത്.
തുടർന്ന് തിങ്കളാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെ വനംവകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പുലിയെ തുത്തംപാറ വനമേഖലയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ആരോഗ്യപരിശോധന നടത്തിയ ശേഷമായിരിക്കും പുലിയെ കാട്ടിലേക്ക് തുറന്നുവിടുക. പുലി കൂട്ടിലായതോടെ പ്രദേശവാസികൾ ആശ്വാസത്തിലാണ്.
A two-year-old male leopard was trapped in a cage installed by the Forest Department near the house of Haridas at Mathoor in Kollengode on Sunday night around 10 p.m. The Forest Department had intensified surveillance in the area following reports of leopard sightings over the past few days. The leopard was caught in the cage installed as part of the monitoring efforts.
Forest Department officials shifted the leopard to the Thuthampara forest area early Monday morning. The animal will be released into the wild after a medical examination by a team of doctors.
