സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് സൗജന്യ യാത്ര അനുവദിക്കുന്ന കെഎസ്ആർടിസിയുടെ പ്രിയദർശിനി ബസ് സർവീസ് ആരംഭിച്ചതിനുശേഷം സ്വകാര്യ ബസ് വ്യവസായം നേരിടുന്ന പ്രതിസന്ധി പരിഹരിക്കാൻ സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ഓൾ കേരള പ്രൈവറ്റ് ബസ് ഓർഗനൈസസ് അസോസിയേഷൻ. സ്വകാര്യ ബസ്സുകൾ നേരിടുന്ന നഷ്ടം പരിഹരിക്കാൻ സർക്കാർ നിയോഗിച്ച കമ്മിറ്റി നൽകിയ റിപ്പോർട്ട് നിരാശാജനകമാണ്.
ഇത്തരമൊരു സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ സ്വകാര്യ ബസ്സുകൾക്ക് മുന്നോട്ടുപോകാൻ കഴിയില്ല. സംസ്ഥാന വ്യാപകമായി ബസ്സുകൾ നിർത്തിയിട്ട് പ്രതിഷേധിക്കാനാണ് ഇന്ന് പാലക്കാട് ചേർന്ന് സംസ്ഥാനതലയോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചതെന്ന് ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറി ടി ഗോപിനാഥ് വാർത്താസമേളത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന മറ്റു ബസ് വ്യവസായ സംഘടനകളും ആയി യോജിച്ചാണ് ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ തീരുമാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുക. അവരുമായുള്ള ചർച്ചകൾ പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്. സമര പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിനു മുന്നോടിയായി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെയും വകുപ്പുമന്ത്രിയെയും ഒരുതവണ കൂടി കാണും.
വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ ബസ് ചാർജ് പുതുക്കുന്ന ബസ്ചാർജിന്റെ 50% വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കണം. ബസ് ചാർജ് വർദ്ധന വരുത്തണം തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് പ്രധാനാവശ്യങ്ങൾ.
തങ്ങളുടെ സംഘടനയിൽ 4,000 ത്തോളം ബസുകൾ ആണ് സർവീസ് നടത്തുന്നത് എന്നും ഇവർ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
Palakkad: The All Kerala Private Bus Owners’ Association has accused the state government of failing to take effective measures to address the crisis faced by the private bus industry following the introduction of free travel for women on KSRTC’s Priyadarshini bus services.
The association said the report submitted by a government-appointed committee to address the losses incurred by private bus operators was disappointing and failed to offer any practical solutions. Under the current circumstances, private buses cannot continue their operations, the association said.
A state-level meeting held in Palakkad today decided to consider stopping private bus services across Kerala as a form of protest, General Secretary T. Gopinath said at a press conference. The final decision will be taken in coordination with other bus operators’ organisations functioning in the state, with discussions currently underway.
Before announcing the strike, the association plans to meet Chief Minister and the concerned minister once again to present their demands.
The association has demanded a revision of student bus fares, including a 50% increase in the existing student concession fare, along with an overall increase in bus fares. The association also stated that around 4,000 private buses are currently operating under its organisation in the state.
